Here's something you may not know about me: I want to get married. I love dresses. It only makes sense that this new series on TLC "Say Yes to the Dress" would make me go on a dress hunt...


I think this dress is wonderful in all it's poof and intricate detailing. However, any thought I've ever given to my wedding dress has not included this much pricessosity??


So pretty! That's all I can say.


This one is so sweet. It's beautiful. I don't even mind the huge flower on the back.


This one is going more in the direction of what I had in mind for myself. A simple silhouette. Lacey. Victorian.


This dress is amazing. I love it.

But not as much as I love this one...this in all the dresses I looked at would be 'the' dress. But I have a chest so I don't know if I could handle strapless. But for the sake of the dress, it's lovely.


Now, ask me to marry you so I can buy one of these and have some pigeon-safe rice thrown at me!

I have one word for you: monochromatic.

I've recently come to love the idea of one color dresses + matching tights. I thought it'd be easy to find you some examples on the internet but I wound up empty handed.

Therefore I will plaster my face all across this entry!




Whilst browsing, I came across the idea that wearing one color maximizes height and minimizes size. I was taller (I am only 5'2) and skinnier than ever!

But seriously, I can see how that makes sense. The eye has no one region to focus on...monochromatic outfits take the focus away from problem areas and give a nice lean line to the body.

Try it.

Maybe I'm not fashion forward enough. Some of the looks for men just went over my head. I don't like my boy pimpin' it in big fur coats or chunky cable sweaters.

So like just for the heck of it, I totally sent in an application to Ford Models last night. What if they replied...



"Dear Miranda,
Your exceptional beauty is like none we've ever seen at Ford. Despite you being vertically challenged, we'd love to represent you! You will revolutionize the fashion industry and petite girls everywhere will admire you!

Okay, as if. But you never know! haha.

I was surfing gofugyourself last night and rekindled my love for the high waist pencil skirt.

I've been rocking them forever now...

Anyway, I think you get the idea.

Everyone should dress nicely EVERYDAY. Quit wearing tacky jeans and tshirts.
Okay, I realize that will never happen but in my world I try to stay on top of things.

It's probably 100 degrees outside but I love this new jersey dress my mother purchased for me during her visit Tuesday. She also bought me my fabby new toy, the laptop, which I'm going to purchase a case for today with a friend. He knows  more about laptops and their needs than I do.  A shopping excursion always calls for dressing up. Do you do that? It must have been how I was raised. Any outing makes me want to look extra nice. Maybe it's the subconscious thinking that if I look presentable people will take notice and actually help me when I walk in a store. I cannot stand when I am not greeted (although at my job, you're lucky if I get up to help you find what you need).



All the pretty ones are so expensive! 


I also want this and these for my fall wardrobe. jcrew.

Before I moved into my apartment this past May I knew I wanted a huge white shelf with my name spelled out on it hanging over my sofa.  Well, I've found the shelf for $25 (and can't get a soul to help me hang the blasted thing) and I've finally found my letters! But at $12 a piece at Anthropologie I'm thinking I might just go with an M. Or a DMR for my initals but that's $48! 

Anyway, these are large and fabric covered and I think they're fantastic.  

I'd also like to note that I am writing to you from my apartment on my BRAND NEW hp laptop. It is oh so snazzy.

Early morning weather has my sense of fashion all confused. By late afternoon it's blazing outside and I am all but dressed appropriately.

Many ideas brewing upstairs on how to transform my summer dresses into winter ones! Hurry up, Winter!

Poor me can't afford dresses such as this marc jacobs (I think...I forget...too many dresses on shopbop)
But Mandy Moore can (it's very similar)!


It looks better on her than the stick skinny model. Not that I have anything against skinny..but whatevers.

The higher the heel the better! Cosmo says the shoe industry coming out with a staggering 5.5 inch stiletto! WHAT....I'd be like...5'7!!! AMAZING. Gotta get some of those.........

 
Can I just tell you how hot I think motorbikes are? I don't know why but I desire one ever so much. Little Dottie Miranda with her hair blowing in the wind, dress flapping in the breeze...it would be ever so delightful.
This one is from BMW. Am I the only person that wasn't aware they make bikeS? That would explain the pretty price tag: 13,900.
